All ex-USSR metro systems were not only for transportation. Kiev subway system is not exeption, it is a huge nuclear bunker with a lot of special additional objects which must help people to survive after nuclear war. USSR falt down and Cold War went to past that’s why a lot of objects were not finished. Another.Kiev team explored one of amazing unfinished abandoned bunkers connected to Kiev metro system.
This Bunker situated parallel to the working subway tunnel and even workers who work in the tunnels every night don’t know about this place. It have been under construction from 1987-1989 and after that government stopped to support this system by money and this object has stand abandoned for 29 years at the moment. Huge labirynth of tunnels has size of a city block and we spent 3 hours jst to too explore all tunnels. In one place we found chalk draft of bunker map painted by one of workers on the wall. There is three major infrastructure blocks, biggest one has 12 meters high and must contain 4 train diesel engines.
In the center of this shot you can see elevator frame, shaft on the top covered by concrete blocks and haven’t exit to the surface.
One of additional blocks made from iron tubings. There is no wind inside so stalactites can grow down up to 3 meters long like in the natural cave.
Forks inside communication bunker. Let’s go Kyiv Urbex Tour to underground tunnels system and cold war bunker with us!
There is side tunnel.
There is major tunnel, which has 12 meters high and in the end you can see connection to the side-tunnel.
Parts on bunker separated by blast resistant doors. They are rusty and looks really creepy.
On the bottom of this tunnel we found air filters FP-300 which used in soviet nuclear bunkers. If you will join our Combo Urbex Tour in Kiev one day you will see it in the bunker.
There is unfinished blast resistant door 4×4 meters. Behind that exit ti the working metro tunnels.
Side tunnel with 3-meters long stalactites.
Trolley in the abandoned tunnel. There is 100% humidity, so you can see like fog on the picture.
Similar object in Moscow metro was repaired for visiting people and now you can visit Protected Command Bunker №42 with a guided tour, but seems like there is no fate for this place, because Ukraine is not in suspense of nuclear war at the moment so all this infrastructure is not in demand. We are in hurry to tell all urbex lovers that this object highly secured by police and at the moment is no chance to get inside. But if you like places like this we can take you with us to Kiev Urban Exploration Tour, where you will visit one of abandoned nuclear bunkers in Kiev.
